We’re raising money to benefit the Albanian Faith In Every Footstep Foundation, and any donation will help make an impact to the people of southern Albania in Lazarat Gjirokaster. The Albanian Faith in Every Footstep Foundation has identified a small elementary school (Baba Rexhepi) in Lazarat, Gjirokaster Albania where we plan to build a playground and make updates to improve the school. The playground will be installed on the school property and serve as a community playground during off school hours.
We’re planning on purchasing & installing a swingset & slide as well as other playground equipment.
Next to the playground is an area that’s frequently used by the elderly to come and socialize. It’s common to see them play dominos or chess & enjoy interacting with others.
If the fundraising goes well, we would like to extend our project to improve this area and fix some of the doors, windows, & paint inside the school. Ideas around this would be to purchase new plastic chairs/tables and board games (chess, backgammon, checkers, dominos, etc).
We are pleased to announce that we have a generous donor who committed to matching the first $5,000 raised so your donation will really go twice as far!
None of the funds are used for administration, 100% of the donations will go towards purchasing equipment & supplies for the project.
We will be partnering with the Young Single adults and other volunteers from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Albania. We appreciate their desire to take part in this project and are excited for the many hands involved to transform this school & make it a wonderful place to gather for the community & to improve the educational experience for the students in this school.
